Socratic Dialogue

Should we heed Socrates in this day and age?

The Socratic method is a form of cooperative argumentative dialogue between individuals, based on asking and answering questions to stimulate critical thinking and to draw out ideas and underlying presuppositions.  Over the course of my life, many fascinating discoveries have intruded upon me with great surprise, and in one instance, I was afforded the privilege of meeting a man who seemed to have tasted of that divine madness of which Socrates speaks, and who generously afforded me the opportunity to study with him in a casual setting by opining on the basics of Greek grammatical structure and argumentation/dialogue about the realm of existential philosophy and religion.  In having had such an opportunity, I can only imagine what it must have been like for Plato in his own lifetime and work in accordance with such a time to attempt to promote this wisdom in his day.  For those who would like to read Plato's Dialogues in their entirety feel free to check out the following link:
